π
Google Sheets Quick-Start
TrueCourse lives inside Google Sheets. Here's everything you need to know to feel comfortable before getting started.
If you use Gmail, Google Sheets is just a click away:
- Open Gmail in your browser (mail.google.com).
- Look at the top-right corner for the grid of nine dots (the βGoogle Appsβ menu, sometimes called the βwaffleβ icon).
- Click the grid and select Sheets (green icon with white lines). This takes you to sheets.google.com.
π‘ Bookmark it: You can go straight to sheets.google.com any time β no need to go through Gmail first.
You're all set!
These basics are all you need to get started with TrueCourse. Once you're comfortable navigating Google Sheets, head back to the setup guide above and follow the steps for your registration method.
Choose Your Setup Path
How do students currently register for your driving courses? Pick the option that matches your workflow β we'll show you exactly what to do.
How TrueCourse Works
Everything runs inside Google Workspace. Student data comes in, reports go out.
π Students Register
Students can register through a Google Form, a connected JotForm or website form, or you can import a CSV roster from another system. However the data gets there, TrueCourse reads it from Google Sheets as your single source of truth.
π
You Define Sessions
In the Sessions tab of the add-on, create sessions with PSO dates, class schedules, review dates, and final exams. TrueCourse uses this to build the calendar and check compliance.
β
Compliance Checks
Free built-in tools verify student eligibility (age β₯ 15 at PSO) and schedule compliance (β€ 10 hours in any 7-day period, no classes on holidays). Catch problems before you generate.
π Reports in a Few Clicks
Hit "Generate New Course Report" or "Generate Course Completion Report" β TrueCourse copies the master template, fills in 30+ fields (names, dates, schedule, licensing info), and saves a finished Google Doc to your Drive. Done in seconds.
